I like them, too. First I thought it was just the monitor going funny - it quit soon after 
- but the buttons are still there in the nice design with the new display.

I thought the same thing but they did work out fine,
I think this goes to show that some of us don’t pay as much attention to the detail on these computer screens as others do. So where are these buttons and what did they look like before they were changed.

Used to be solid colour, now they have that illuminated glow in the lower portion.
