Designing a spout for a water tower

I commented in another thread about scratch building a water tower that I would make a spout by designing it on my computer and 3D printing it.

I experimented a bit this morning using a free program called SketchUp and thought you might be interested in seeing how I did it.

There is a YouTube video here:

So Dave
If you make some, what’s the chance of you making a couple of extra’s???

Sean - no problem at all - the one I designed the other day is not particularly wonderful - just a pipe with a bend in one end!

Do you have something specific, shape-wise, in mind? Also, how long end-to-end and what diameter?

thanks

dave

I got this tank veeeeery used. What ever looks close enough.
Just missing the spout. Thanks Dave. Sean - looks like about 90 degrees at the bend between the body of the spout and the tip - I’ll see if I can get the stepped bend, too - should only be a matter of putting them in the path that the circle follows.

How long from end to end?

Give me a day or three to experiment

dave

Give me a day or too also to visit my friend who has one.

I’ll measure it an take some pics.

Dave
I’m all set, a friend had an extra spout .
Thanks for offering to print one.
Sean

Good deal, Sean - that makes it easier all around!
