I am curious to learn more about this motorized die cast rail inspection truck made by Delton. I had the good fortune of acquiring one this afternoon in three shopping carts of G scale tracks, train cars and engines that I found at the local recycling center. Also there were 2 LGB engines, one steam and one diesel. Almost everything except the Delton was from Lgb. Most of the track looks to be new, enough to add another 300 feet to my existing set up. Not bad for the price.
A “local recycling center”? Was this like a thrift store or a place where metal is seperated from plastic and sold to be melted down? Either place, it looks like you had a great find.
Wow talk about being at the right place at the right time. I dont know much about the Delton railcar other then it usually goes for alot of money on ebay.
The place is a little of both. Items come in and they will sell to you if you want it. If not it will end up being recycled as in melted down or what ever the process might be for an item.
What does come to mind is there is a need for some sort of way for a person’s collection to be transferred on once the owner catches that final express
Here is a couple of photos. It does run but I need an electrical pickup (spring loaded plunger type0 for one of the front wheels

Bill, Your photos are huge Try resizing them to 1200x800 or 800x600. If you’re using Windows, there are several free image resizers available online. I wouldn’t mind getting my hands on one of these myself

Thanks Joe
Neat truck!
Got one for my birthday last year,
it’s not as weathered as Joe’s…
Picture in my freight shed.

That rail truck does not belong to me (sigh) I only posted the photo of Bill Eldredge’s truck for him.
