I bought a Delton Hershey car Saturday in Roseville CA at Railfair XXXIIX. Today I planned to replace the plastic wheels and install Kadee couplers on it.
In the process, I dropped one of the trucks onto a concrete floor, breaking edges of the sideframs and parts of the top bolster that is held in place by real springs. I recoverd the springs, but the bolster looks to be beyond simple repair.
Anyone have a spare truck for this car? HELP!!
This forum is the BEST! Got my truck from Stan yesterday, put new steel wheels in it, and it’s ready to go onto the car. I’ll go do that in a few minutes, then put the car back in its box. I’ll be putting body mounted Kadee No 1’s on it in March, when I do a workshop on installing Kadee couplers on Large Scale equipment. It’s a lot easier than doing it in “N” scale, as I did years ago. And those couplers had to be assembled before you could mount them on the cars!
