Seems the usual LGBoA ad in GR this time was replaced by a full page add for the Spotted Deer Hobby Store…
Hmmmmmm … really? Does a deer in the headlights have more spots or fewer spots?
The optimists had it that there would be an announcement regarding the distribution of LGB® product by the end of Feb. Despite being Friday, Feb 29th (leap year day) probably wouldn’t have been such an opportune time.
So we’ll wait 'til next week.
depends if the vehicle in question has it’s fog lights on? that could add a few spots, then if it were one of those police cars they have the spot-light on the a-pillar…and lights on the roof…and truckers appear to be light-a-hollics…never can tell
I see an LGBoA ad on page 21.
John Joseph Sauer said:WOW imagine that! Now I have to drop by the mag store and have a look how many ads LGBoA has in the current GR. :/ :( :P

Looks like one to me.
meant to say “usual LGBoA ‘near front of mag’ ad”…sorry if that caused confusion…yes I did see the Disney add on pg. 21…

I wonder how much PIKO track Spotted Dear Train Store will sell at something between $8.00 and $8.75/foot for short straight sections. And those prices appear to only be good for whole packages. Examples are 6 pieces of 1200mm (~23’ 7" total) for $251.94, discounted by SDTS to $191.94 and 12 pieces of 280mm (~11’ total) for $119.88, discounted by SDTS to $95.88. That’s $8.13 and $8. 69 / foot respectively.
No pricing shown for individual sections and no mention of turnouts. Then add that PIKO has chosen to use the old LGB “R1, R2, R3, R5” designations for curve radii, but with different dimensions, and it would seem they have set themselves up to serve a deliberately self limited market.
A couple of other interesting items: No mention of “LGBoA” in the Spotted Deer Train Store ad. I was under the impression that LGBoA were the U.S. importers for PIKO and were somehow connected with SDTS. Is that incorrect?
I also notice that the Garden Railways review of the PIKO track mentions that the radii designations are different, but neither the SDTS ad nor the GR review say what the dimensions really are. Make me wonder if that means they haven’t been chosen yet!

IMHO not pretty, but OK for the TOY trains crowd.
oh there is a mention of LGBoA there…at the very bottom of this page…

You'd think at a place called Walt Disney World, they'd try to out do themselves. Unless they've changed it in the last several years all they had was a medium sized oval of track and a few small scenes.John Joseph Sauer said:That was an ad for Disney World, touting LGBoA's participation, not an ad to sell products.

Saw this on another website. Looks like a special display for thier Flower and Garden Festival.

I think there is a newer layout at Walt Disney World built within the last several years.
Could some correct me if I’m wrong.
One things for sure: Gummi and Disney are an almost perfect fit, in many respects!
Maybe they’re looking to put some new blood into the hobby. God knows it’s needed!
The lack of information from either side gives it all away.
There is no information.
LGBoA’s future probably lies with Piko and their other product lines. Will their other business be enough to compensate financially? Only time will tell. I don’t think Marklin are that bothered really because I can’t imagine european product being competitive at current exchange rates.
