I use inkjet decals and am getting tired of replacing them. Mik’s Place sorely needs replacement and that will be the next one in the town rebuild.
Has anyone had any luck with decals outside?

I think I agree Steve. How long have yours lasted
While vinyl might not make perfect decals for this project, a “negative” decal cut from vinyl might make a good painting mask.
I haven’t found any sort of decal of vinyl applique good enough to last if left out year 'round for more than a few years.
If that is your goal, then a paint mask is probably the better way to go. Del Tapparro at G-Scale Graphics makes some good ones.
I thought you were talking about decals for rolling stock.
Actually it is for both buildings and rolling stock.
How many colors? Dry transfers use some seriously tough inks but get real expensive real quick when you add different colors! Unlike decals, they are laid down in “layers” so a “photographic” look is almost impossible. I have some on my R/C aircraft that are over a decade old exposed to fuel and exhaust but still look great…Of course this is not continual exposure to the elements.
Recently I have been using some of Stan’s decals and find them easier to lay over a rough surface…Like rivets for example.
Paint might be your best option for continued outdoor exposure.
