Decals for my Mogul.

Stan made the decals for my Accucraft live steam Mogul. Had ‘Nevada County’ on it before. Spring Creek is the name of my railroad, it’s just down the hill from our house. I had to sand off the lettering. Stan made the background brown around the letters to just fit in the raised oval outline the lettering had. They looked sort of flat so I painted a gloss clear coat over them. The paint on the Mogul is gloss.

Looks good…now with the fad of trying to fire those things with real coal; are you trying wood as a fuel…it seems to be in the tender…!!

No pic? :frowning:

Phil, I see the beautiful locomotive just fine.

Beautiful-looking locomotive - enhanced by Stan’s decals. Me, I got nothing else on any of my after-market prettified models.

OT - Trying to support the local economy - every now and then - here in UK I paid a HUGE wadge of money to have a lot of data lettering done on some Hungarian narrow-gauge passenger cars that I’d converted/improved. When the decals arrived I had extreme difficulty actuall seeing them at all, as they were white on white backgound decal paper. Worse yet, they were sooo thin that they virtually disappeared in the softening process. Having proven to myself that they really DID disintegrate in the water, I put them all in the trash - that was one expensive exercise in futility, made even worse when I called up the maker to tell him of my experiences. He advised me that he was going to start to use a ‘far-more substantial’ blue background paper the next week, and was I interested in having them re-done?

Same price, of course.

At that point I put the phone down.

Stan has never let me down, in spite of me asking him for some pretty difficult work.
