As a youngster on a newspaper in Cardiff (Wales) I well remember that during AND after WW2, there was a printed banner .(Red lettering on a white background) on the wall of the building that said REMEMBER PEARL HARBOUR. (UK spelling!)
It was there for years until the building was torn down. By that time it was just visible.
Our visit to the Arizona Memorial, a very moving experience.

My Father was in the Army that day, celebrating his Birthday at home, not exactly on leave. He had to beat feet it to Camp Kilmer when all leaves were cancelled. He never forgot that Birthday.
