DCC control of LGB track cleaning loco

OK, So I have one, have used with DC on my layout before with brass rail.

Went to SS, so no more need to use.

Set up NCE DCC system, and many locos waiting for decoders.

Went, wait, the LGB has a decoder. Put it on the rails, and it took off on medium speed, no directional or speed control using address 3.

Weird. So tried to program on program track, it reads the manufacturer, but cannot read the CV’s.

So has anyone run one of these with DCC? Any tricks?

How many speedsteps is your command station set to? Could be that the decoder is set to the LGB default 14 speedsteps.

Can you read out any of the other CVs?

Command station set to 28, as is the decoder… according to the LGB manual, it has 14 steps, but works with 28 step control, it just “skips” every other step.

Did not try to read other CV’s because I could not read the loco address. I have a programing track booster I will try, this thing has lights and a second motor. The NCE procab said it could not read other cv’s

I wonder if it has it’s address changed. Since I cannot program it on the program track, may try programming on main, but have to have at least short address…
