NEW MTH Daylight coaches that I got from Ray Manley on a pre-order. First time I’ve had a chance to run them all together. Two have figures in them, need to order some more. I think this train is pulling me away from my UP trains!
Whoever came up with that livery for SP totally earned their paycheck.
Ats sharp.
Great looking train on a great looking railroad. You just can’t beat that.
Beautiful! The OTHER ‘Lady of Portland’ - this one with fancy skirts!

WOW Jerry that’s a beauty!! Having grown up in Palo Alto California I saw the Coast Daylight very often. When’s the video? Here’s a link to some of it’s history.
A time long gone in Passenger service, alas. Now, it’s “Git on, sit down, shut up, then get off!” on Amtrak. That is, if you get there at all! Of course, you will get there most of the time, but you will be at least 3 hours late due to equipment issues!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Andrew, and how do you really feel?
Andrew, are you speaking from personal experience, or just what you’ve been told. I ride Amtrak at least once a year on an Interstate train. Sometime late, sometimes not – just like when I drive or fly (or walk for that matter).
No question that the daylights were beautiful. But that has nothing to do with current passenger trains, IMHO.
Jerry, are those MTH 1:32 cars? I’ve got three coaches and an obs. If they weren’t so blessed expensive, I’d buy a few more to cut up for a diner, a sleeper, and maybe a full baggage. In the meantime, I’ll just dream!
Yes Dick they are MTH cars, so is the engine. Really like the MTH stuff and the 1:32 scale really seems to fit my railroad well. I got a USA dome piece and cut up one of my UP passenger cars. Had to thin it down a little to fit the smaller scale.
