If your thing is just running long trains then this place is the answer to your hobby needs. I personal like the modeling side of the hobby, but remember this is a hobby with several different aspects to it, so if just running trains this is probably the place. I can see where some trains with all their engines and cars could easily be a $5000 train investment. I would think for RLD Hobbies it is a selling feature for them, nothing wrong with that.

A place to get together and meet others, and run trains and see them as they do 90% of the time running down the track on their own pulling a nice string of cars. Sometimes it’s nice to see just how much your locomotive will pull by themselves or with 2 or more power units.
