No stinkin’ napkin, no grab irons, no paint, and no stirrups - YET, but you get the idea. Rabbit is optional and removable.

is that a…bunny hot tub?
Bruce;
More of a short gondola car to be pulled by my pale purple ACL Eggliner. I call it an Egg Go (yes, stole it from the round frozen waffles). Will be used as an Easter theme train, hence the bunny. If I can find them, my wife and I have some nice Penndelfin ceramic rabbit figurines that will make good “loads”.

Nice to see you join Dave.
However we need to see if Bob (or you) can move it to the MIK category instead of the rolling stock category. That way we have all the MIK builds under one roof.
Devon;
I tried to change it, but the menu does not even allow for a MIK choice and I cannot type in the field, so I suppose it’s up to Bob.
Sorry, David Meashey
P.S. OK, found it & saved it.
So since that’s a rabbit hole where’s Alice ?
Honestly, I thought this was another Fun Foods post, involving stewed rabbit…
I stand corrected. Carry on, Mr. Meashey.
Now its in its proper place. I can sleep again at night.
What a wonderful theme, Dave. Glad you joined up this year.
Well, the second chassis is assembled and ready for Kadees. I found the stirrup steps and the grab irons. Time to paint the egg-shaped gondola bodies. So far spent less than $5.00 for paint. One body will be pink, the other pale blue - to go with the Easter Bunny theme. That’s the progress so far. Except for paint, I have everything else on hand.
Regards, David Meashey
I was going to paint the egg-shaped gondola bodies today, but spent a lot of my time finding tools, paint supplies, and other bits and pieces that I haven’t touched in over three years. I did get the couplers mounted on the second chassis, find grab irons that were all the same size and mount brake wheels. I may mount the stirrups next. This is not intended as fine scale, but the A.W.N.U.T.S. folks would love it. For me it will just be the satisfaction of having built something again. Those cars will be my prize.
I feel like that every time I go in my hobby room.
Finished the chassis for each car today. Stirrups are mounted and painted. Test mounted the grab irons to the car bodies, put a first coat of paint on the inside of the car bodies, and also around the bottom edge of the car bodies so it can dry well before I glue body to chassis. Now waiting to start second coat. I may need another bottle of pink, but I’ll still be under budget if I do have to buy it.
Boy, it’s great to be stewing around on a project again!

Kinda therapeutic isn’t it. One of my favorite aspects of the MIK is the deadline. As we all know i like to start stuff and not finish. But I am pretty good about seeing my MIK projects to completion. Something relaxing about having a fun but singular focus.
Today I painted the outside of the blue gondola body. The blue, which is more medium blue than light, covers in one coat. The shade varies slightly, but I don’t mind because it resembles a dyed Easter egg. The pink gondola body got a second coat on the inside, and the outside got the first coat. Again, I don’t mind the variegated shading. Thursday I should be able to finish painting and glue each body to its chassis.
Once the cars are done, I will take a photo of them coupled to the Eggliner. I’m calling this train the Easter Bunny Limited.
Regards, David Meashey
Got the blue car body mounted to the chassis this morning, and put the second coat of paint on the pink car body. Hope to mount the pink car body on its chassis tomorrow. Will try to have a photo of the Easter Bunny Limited by Saturday. I have found two Pendelfin rabbit figurines to act as passengers on the Limited. This will not be classy, but I’m pretty sure it will be cute. Think the A.W.N.U.T.S. crowd would love it.
Regards, David Meashey
The pink car body is now mounted to its chassis. Need to allow some time for the Walthers Goo to set. Hope to get a photo of the Easter Bunny Limited within the next few days.
Regards, David Meashey
Done! The pink Egg-Go has Picnic Midge eating a cherry pie. The blue Egg-Go has Jotty (sitting on a pink potty). I love the expressive eyes and faces on the PenDelfin (co’s spelling) rabbits. The Easter Bunny Limited is ready to highball. Far as I am concerned, the Egg-Go cars are my prize for the 2025 MIK.
Regards, David Meashey
Very cool. Neat little Easter highball.
