Daves Build Challenge 2014

OK guys, Last weekend, and I’m jumping into the challenge. This will be a quick build (it had better be).

The wife asked me how many doors I had left from the challenge, and what I was going to do with them?

Now that my roof rolling machine is out-putting nice corrugated panels, and I wanted to build something, what better excuse then to build a paneled building selling doors.

Thus I begin the build for " Sulley & Mike’s DOOR SALES" Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Wazowski have been looking for an outlet for their collection of doors.

it’s 5pm MST Saturday, wish me luck…

Luck

You have plenty of time! Just don’t sleep.

8:30 pm Sat night. Busted out the base from pallet stuff.

Covered the floor w/ 1/4 ply. And decked with Cedar I had cut for trestle work.

Covered three sides with old weathered cedar that I had cut off fence pickets.

Post and Beamed the framing with timbers from trestle bents.

Of course I have the Required door, Which color would you like?

Back to work. Need to cut down the stringers to mount the panels to.

BTW I don’t have a clue as to the best adhesive to use for attaching the alum, panels. Hint’s guys?

12:45 am Sunday morning.

Got the nailers on the frame work, and just couldn’t wait , so I nailed a couple of panels up to see what it was going to look like.

I think that it will work well. And it should cover fast.

Moved onto building the front deck. Used the same bridge timbers and stuff.

That will wrap it up for tonight. This Old guy needs to get some sleep.

Sweet!!

Very nice …and done so quickly. Good Job.

Doc Tom

Looks good Dave: you burn’t the midnight oil I guess. lol

Thanks Boomer. Witch sets/dries/grabs faster, E6000 or the clear caulk (i’m assuming clear caulk is but silicone)

Worked thru the weekend, and ran out of time for the fiddley things, but whipped it out.

More pics tomorrow in the finished pics thread.

Some more pics.

Quick and fun.

Now I have to find a permeant place on the pike for it. I can’t leave it out on the street like that. I haven’t had much vandalism, but that would be tempting fate.

Looking good Dave. You sure are FAST! The rough cut wood makes it look old. Will you eventually add some rust to the panels?
If you needed another job you could build these and sell them on Ebay!
