Dave G's Colorado Consolidated RR

I just got the latest issue of GR today, and enjoyed the feature article about Dave’s layout. Really a great looking RR.

Yeah, neat to see Dave’s layout.

Looks great, hope to see it in person someday.

I gotta kick about how some of the places got their names, Bald Mountain, Malfunction Junction, Mehus Dairy, Glory…original…

Dave’s RR was long over due in appearing in GR mag.

I still haven’t received my copy. I know the subscription is paid this time
Maybe the US Postal Service is waiting to deliver it with the next issue in the Government’s fight against global warming

I look forward to reading about TOC’s RR. Names for places are something I have a difficult time with. My GRR is young with little history.
I also enjoy the creative names on Ric’s RR.

Dave and Fred have always been inspirations. Lots of my ideas have come from the “Masters”. BUt don’t tell them I said that.

…I’m still looking for a place to put the name, “Cat Dump East” on…and I still want to build “Mike’s Sewer & Sludge Works”, along with “Old Sludge Brewery”, but I just haven’t inspired myself yet.

Ric; you and Dave inspire me to be more creative, but it seems other projects keep getting in the way. Just today, after the latest NG operation; I had complaints about some light pieces of rolling stock. I seem to spend more of my time keeping the roadbed, track, and equipment in order, than building buildings. Seems that matters more to the guys, so that’s what happens.

I know this. Once I get to doing buildings and towns. There is a spot on the railroad for the town of Heatstroke. Full sun all day and man it gets hot there.

LOL! Good one, wish I'd thought of it. :)

I also enjoyed reading about daves layout. It is always good to see peoples works in GRM especially those from the forums.

Congrats, Dave, it is well deserved. Now to get to the LHS to get my copy!

Good looking layout , looks like a fun place to operate , and at a nice height to work .

Post Office just delivered my copy.
Dave’s RR is very impressive.

It was a lot of fun doing this with Marc.
Lotta work, but I think what they did with the raw data is very, very good.
I was happy that Marc didn’t argue with me about headlights, too!
The quality of the photos is much, much better than I could have done with my little camera.

Thanks, GR!

Does this mean you like Kalmbach…er… I mean Klambake now?
What’s next - you , Kalmbach and Bachmann sitting around the campfire singing Kumbaya?

Amazing how nice one can be when it’s to one’s own advantage.

How does one go about getting their RR in GR? I would love to do my RR at some point. I have done a few write -ups on hikes in my area for magazines. It would be fun to do this with my RR.

Took me 17 years.

You, sir, are an unmitigated buffoon.
Funny thing, everybody thinks the cover shot is a Bachmann K, and it is not.
Not Accucraft, either.

I wasn’t aware that I had any issues with Klambake.

Where is the coverage of your railroad?

I think the original write-up went in about 6 years or so ago.

Marc did a helluva job, and the folks who put it together did wonders.
Can you imagine if they’d printed it like I normally write?

Go find a dark, damp hole, fall in, and pull the ground in on top of yourself.

Pretty long list of Bachmann locos in that there article…

And yes you are correct - the editors at KALMBACH did a nice job.
