Does anyone know the numbers of the cars that were lettered for Gramps. I know they were sort of random.

Not all the UTLX cars were “Gramps”. They went through 3 different number series over the years. Don’t know for sure if the list below is complete.
Nos. (just those lettered Gramps) in order original number-1947 number-1956 number:

There were other cars not lettered “Gramps”, some in oil fuel service. I don’t know when “Gramps” was first lettered onto the cars. I doubt it was on any as first built 1908-1912 but may have been on the early numbers prior to renumbering in 1947.
Lots of Continental Oil Company cars back in those days, too.
