I have the Bachmann long caboose #0505 and I noticed the real 0505 has the safety ladder extension’s. I know for the version I have they would not be correct but I like the look anyway. Who sells these?
Bachmann might have the extensions available for sale from their parts department. The Bachmann extensions are held on by 8 screws (2 for each extension). So you’d have to order those too.
If Bachmann can’t help, Trackside Details sells extensions. Part Number TD-179.

In the Narrow Gauge Pictorial Vol V - caboose O505 sports ladder extensions In a August 1964 photo (taken in Durango).
No ladder extensions for 0505 in a 1946 photo.
In the 1964 photo 0505 also has the short rain gutters on the platform overhangs (above the steps).

Well, like I said I know it won’t be correct for my version but I like how they look. I contacted Bachmann and even though they have a part number I was told they do not sell parts at all for any of the 1:20.3 line of rolling stock, go figure. I ordered a set from Trackside Details.
They would look nice on this model.
