D&RG 315 running for D&S Railfest

DRHS has just released the running schedule for railfest this year. My plans are to be part of the operating crew for this event. If you are planning to attend, Please look me up, and I can put a face to the name. Or share a cold one after the work is done.

D&RGW 315 will pull a passenger train for 3 days during August 16 – 18

Friday, August 16: Photo excursion from Silverton to Durango

Saturday, August 17: short runs between Durango and Event Park (near Glider Port)

Sunday, August 18: Photo excursion from Durango to Silverton

I’m kinda interested because August is wide open for me, but nowhere on the Railfest promo could I find any sign of costs. There’s a phone number, but I hate to have to get involved if I decide not to go. And the determining factor is cost. Along that line, do you have to sign up for the whole True West package? I just want to ride and possibly photograph a loco or train.

I don’t really know for sure. But in the past years… you could do as little or as much as you wanted. There are generally tickets for most things right up until it leaves or starts. And chasing the trains is Free. In Silverton the place is pretty much wide open. As of now I’m not hosting any Special “shoots”.

It seems to me that this year the RR is a little behind on the marketing and etc. then in the past, and the general info is a bit slow in the PR department.
