Well…it’s way above a napkin cuz it has been in the works for some time. The shop foreman has been working on this problem in between other non-RR priorities for a good while. However, the challenge has gotten the attention of the competitive bugger, and he is now ready to try to complete the project within the allotted time frame.

Ambitious, and I already know if I get far enough I will consume all the allotted corrugated material. For Dave T., after the challenge I will contact you for additional material to complete the project.

John, the idea is to get the foundation solid so it won’t settle. Then when the track and building id put in place it will last a long time. The additional area around the structure is to allow a shallow layer of small gravel to be applied and hopefully minimize the dirt that will splash and speed up deterioration. Time will tell…I gotta finish the engine house first…:slight_smile:

Nice Bob, that is a really nice building and I do hope you get it done and if not you keep us posted on its progress. That will be top notch

That has been on the drawing boards for over a year. A while back I had a hard drive crash on me and I lost all the AutoCAD files that made up the drawings. Those copies are from a check set I had printed. I am feverishly reworking the drawings from the data I have. One change I am going to make for the Mik Challenge is to build to indoor standards. The original goal was to build the framing in PT cuts and the siding was going to be old groth red wood I have stored in a foot locker (it IS the foot locker) I built some 50 years ago. I figure the red wood will outlast me.

That is definitely bigger than a breadbox! Do we call that a mega-challenge?

As Maynard has said…may as well get something off the build list in the process. FYI, should be about 28" x 48" foot print.
