No chance this year, still only on 11 of the projects on this list

ALCO C-630
This one does NOT have any paint on it (except the handrails) no finishing or sanding on anything either
No paint? Decals or did you print the white?
Looks like the renderings are getting cleaner as you learn.

Hey Mark, you are doing some fantastic work, but I have a question for you. Do you design all these from scratch or is there a source of drawings out there that you have access to.
All of my alcos are from scratch
the sw1500 is by Daniel Noree
the f40 is modified from design on sketchup that is drawn wrong (cab section isn’t close but the body was usable)
the GP30c was found on sketchup and made 3d printable by me
John the lettering is vinyl
Baldwin DR 6-4-2000
Impressive Marc to say the least!
Very nicely done. I’m impressed. Got to love those Alcos and especially the C-630 C&NW. Later RJD
Now that Bachmann has reissued the Aristo FA blocks, that opens up the prospects for even more models.
Perhaps I bailed form 1:29 just a bit too soon - I just love the Alcos; especially the early ones like the RS-1 and variations of the RS-3. As mentioned by others, the printing quality seems tons better than your early ones. Where do you find the time to do all this design work?
added 2 RS-3’s to the roster a while back, not sure why I didn’t put up pics here
Alco RS-1 Joins the 3d print train roster
Nice!
Alco S-3 (because of the trucks) once the Blunt trucks go on it’s actually going to be an S-1
New Magor TOFC also
ALCO/MLW RS-18u
Krupp K-5 Railgun
General Steel Castings 60 Ton Well Car
Good to see your creations again. I was wondering about you last night.
Winter is when I design, I’ve got 45+ projects waiting for printer time now. I can’t really paint in the house in winter so the next few weeks will see several projects move quickly. I’m working on 6ish models right now that should be done this month
Alco 636 (Australian) is fresh off the printer
General steel caboose - ready for final paint and decals
Ortner Rapid discharge hopper - in primer today
D&H Idler gondola - ready for final paint and decals
Alco C855 (repainting and redoing the decals)
Bombardier CR-4000 - reworking motor blocks and trucks
Scale weight test car- reworking frame
I just ordered another 3d printer today
Cool designs, Mark… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
MLW M420 loosely based on the horrible move “Atomic train”
So Mark, do you have a “proper” web site somewhere?
Here’s my issue: You make several things I think I want, but there’s a lot of unanswered questions, that would normally be on a company website.
Facebook is pretty pictures and discussions scrolling off the screen, I cannot, as a customer, find what I want to know.
So, do you have an organized web site that gives:
-
high resolution pictures of what I will deal with in terms of filling and painting?
-
what chassis (if any) are tested / look right / are suggested for each model.
-
Lighting provisions?
-
How the shell will come on and off, actually pictures of the shell off the chassis?
For example I am very interested in the H-660 for Santa Fe.
With the availability of free web sites now, it is easy to make something up and I submit facebook is not the place since you cannot “navigate” anywhere except “back in time”.
Thanks, Greg
(and yes I want a DL-109 too)
