A DL-109? Wonder what one would look like in CN two-tone green. Milwaukee had a couple different paint schemes. New Haven had an attractive one in green and orange with pinstripes on orange.

Southern, Santa Fe, GM&O also had them but I was thinking more about the roads closer to Canada.

Impressive to say the least!

Wow, Mark… As Sean posted… “Impressive to say the least.”

They are very, very nice…

Wow! I was wondering what you’ve been up to, I’m impressed!

The DL series? A babyface could entice me to have a dismal on the road… hmmmm

John

Two different electrics would nice additions to your roster.

Milwaukee Little Joe

Great Northern Y-1

Impressive to say the least. Its nice to see someone take a genuine interest in producing products that are not generally available from the big manufacturers. Mark, in your experience, how well do the 3D printed shells hold up to the rigors of outdoor use? Thanks for sharing.

A real “babyface” would be actually a baldwin not an ALCo, they are close though, especially the “Black Maria”

Thanks for the clarification, I kinda knew that, but guess I never got it straight.

I like the Alco better without the hump behind the cab.

John

edit fer speling

I might be interested in the Alco HH 660. But I don’t see it listed anywhere, I’ve got a pair of short USA blocks that need a purpose

Mark,

I would also like to know how these models hold up in the elements. I assume these are printied in ABS?

I’ll use abs for smaller parts, but for the most part I use PLA on all these prototypes. Granted I also have done extensive field testing to figure out the right thicknesses and infills to achieve this will good results. Long term use outdoors requires different infill and shell requirements vs prototype thickness
