Curiosity: Ready Made Trains = Aristo?

Is the following consistent with Aristo-Craft “going out of business…”?

My guess is Aristo-Craft is really a series of secondary companies. So what or who is going out of business – and when?
Just curious.

Is this an example:

Got an e-mail announcing “Veterans Day Tribute” - from Ready Made Trains an apparent division of Aristo-Craft. Owners? Managers? Walter and Suzie Matach are listed . “O” gauge locos and cars at reduced prices – “O” gauge passenger cars (2 in a package) “regular price $219.00”, now “”$54.99" for two.

Is this ad an act of going out of business?

RMT is a stand alone 0 Gauge company that has (had) a marketing agreement with Aristo. RMT is not part of Aristo. I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I expect RMT to survive, as it is well thought of in the 0 gauge 3 rail community.

Not much has been said by AC as to RMT products. Yes RMT had an agreement with AC to help promote and help distribute there product. Who know where it will go now. Later RJD

Go to RMT site they explain what is happening

NOTE:
First of all, RMT is not closing. The Polk's are closing their business. I (and my wife Susie) still own RMT 100%.

As our product line grew, especially after much of the former Kline train molds became available to RMT, it became
necessary to partner with Polk's/Aristo to utilize their resources to continue RMT's expansion.
For this I have no regrets as the Polk Family was great to work with.

At this time, there will be no incoming shipments of any new RMT products until 2014.

Sort of plays heck with the notion spawned by the Polks that it was theirs.
Been known in the three-rail crowd for some time.

Dave -
Thanks.

I am impressed with the company’s offerings and prices. Upfront, these are toy trains made for user activity – as I remember my Lionel on the cliché 4x8’ plywood.
16 pieces of 3-rail curve track for $30+ is very affordable.
If curious, check their Veterans’ Day ad.

RMT, as far as I know, has not been imported into the UK. I guess it would sell well if it was.

The Veterans Day tribute, on their web site, is well worth reading and viewing.

To get a more complete viewpoint of the RMT/ Aristo trading arrangements read the whole of the explanation by Walter Matuch.
