While not G scale large scale, this is real LARGE scale and the perfect decoration for your railway garden. This is a real, all cast iron, crossing flasher off the Erie RR in Rochester, Indiana. Every thing is cast iron, from the light heads, to the crossbucks. only the targets and sun shields are sheet metal. Both lamps have nice glass lenses, the mirrors are in there, but both have been cracked and reglued so they are functional. I am asking $200 picked up here in Kokomo Indiana. I can assist with local delivery, or down to the Indianapolis area for help with fuel money. Thanks Mike T
how do you power it?
You can change the bulbs to 12V (the are an exact fit) then use an old-style 2-way automotive flasher. I have just the heads from a set. Started making the cross-bucks from wood and the post from schedule 40 PVC, but it is yet another unfinished project.
I have a traffic light flasher, motor driven that I used. You can find the real relay on ebay from time to time. The RR uses 9-10vt DC power to run the lights, I find a 6vt battery charger works nicely. You can also put 12vt bulbs in them, standard bayonet base automotive lights, and use a flasher for police car lights ect to make them work. Mike
I’d buy it today, but alas, too far to pick it up.
I’ll be in Kokomo, IN for the Howard County Veterans Reunion in September. I could pick it up then if you haven’t sold it.
I hope to have it sold before then, guy in indy has a newer setup that I want to purchase. Thanks for the interest so far guys. Mike
