Creameries

Neat - what did you use to darken the blocks?

Looking good. Nice idea…

Very watered down black acrylic paint.

The railroads around here were mainly passenger and dairy service. The creamery came out great. That didnt take you long.

Is that a double rainbow behind it;)

Ken, Ken, Ken! Creameries? Where I came from it was breweries (“Make Mine Manru,” and “I’ll be lookin’ for you,” which was Jenny). They had some great looking buildings. And a great tasting product, but then you know us Euro ethnic types.

Philadelphia had quite a few breweries, but out here where I live, they mainly supplied the raw ingredients that the Breweries needed . While reading the book I came across a picture of a Caramel Factory in Oxford. It had a siding with 2 standard gauge boxcars sitting on it. I thought that would make an interesting industry to model (except I don’t think I have any more room on the layout, but ya never know)…

Well, you 2 can fight over it, but just make sure the milk’s ready when the train pulls in…

Oh good. At least it’s in an easy spot to switch. Well, maybe not so much.

Turned out nice.

We shall see…

I heard that Creamy produced and supplied A LOT of product for it’s size!

That turned out well!

Ken, looks like it’s been sitting there for years…

With this build I am going to reconsider the windows and doors from precision products. Ken, yours turned out real nice.

Nice job Ken. I love the texture and color you achieved on that stone foundation, and just with black acrylic, too. Well done!

Those 3 buildings in this picture all have doors and windows from Precision Products…

Notice that he doesn’t mention how “EASY” it is to switch ANY of these industries…yeah…it’s all about Precision Products…

Ken, did you apply a sealer of any sorts over the watered down acrylic black paint? I’m ready to apply a stain on the stones on one of my buildings and was wondering what you are using…if anything.
