Craig's Build Challenge 2014

Ok…progress!

I use a number 11 blade backward to do the same thing. It also works for scoring and snapping plexiglass.

I’ve tried that as well, but it doesn’t remove the styrene the same as this tool. I sharped this from a blunt edge to a fine edge with my dremel a while back. Micro-Mark sells a ‘commercial’ copy of this tool.

I glued 3 exterior walls this afternoon, and completed the interior walls. The remaining walls are for on the motor car side, and I’m debating if I want to model working doors, and have track inside the building (instead of just butting up to the doors).

Here’s Dave’s door. The foreman has a nice door to his office.

The holes in the above picture I believe are to vent heat throughout the building, as the oil heater is located inside the foreman’s office. Cold air intake on the bottom, hot air outtake on the top?

Overhead view. On the far right will be a lunch table and lockers, bathroom on top (not sure how to model a toilet or urinal quite yet!),

foreman’s office on bottom.

The second half of the building. The pencil lines represent the rails, and track centerline for placement of doors. Overall dimensions 40’ x 16’ x 10’ H
