Yes, it is a very nice tradition.
Two years ago I caught the train at different locations between Banff AB and Golden BC during daylight hours. Including at Morant’s Curve just East of Lake Louise AB.

If the logistics work out for next year I’ll could finally get some on the Alberta prairies.

Nice video. I looked at the New York route about a month ago and thought it was too far to drive. Looking at the video from NY, they end up near Schenectady once it’s good and dark which is only about 2 hours from me. Maybe next year.
That’s what it is.
This year’s will be the fifth installment and I’m considering assembling the segments into a DVD covering scenes between Banff AB and North Bend BC. That’s 429 rail miles. A variety of scenery, weather and light conditions.
