Large Scale Central

Country Store

I’m working on a Muella Scale Models resin kit. I bought this quite a while back. There are many abandoned stores like this still standing in NC. They were almost always painted white. But I didn’t want another white building.

The roof is just taped together at this point. I used some acrylic to beef up the roof. I remember reading about some problems with roofs warping.

The kit has some interior detail molded in. Although it will be very hard to see, I decided to add some interior detail.

A counter, some shelves, coke chest and signage. There seems to be an odd reflection of the counter in the front door. Odd because no “glass” installed yet.

Still much left to do. LED lighting. Windows, details and finishing the roof.

very cool! I’m lazy, I only detailed the inside of whatever buildings were close enough to the edge for people to see they were empty when they are lit. The rest have curtains…

I usually don’t model interiors either. I sometimes put in floors or walls, so that I can light sections of a building.
This Muella kit had the walls, floor and interior window detail cast in. It is a pricey kit that I picked up reasonably cheap.
So I thought I would give it an interior.

The store has been mostly finished for days now. Raining every day, so I am still waiting to put it out on the GRR. Since the Jackson Dairy has a Pepsi Fountain, the Sunny View General Store is pushing it’s Coke Fountain. Ralph

Excellent job Ralph! That really came out nice. I like the signeage too.

I like the whole “coke theme” (if intended or not) I like the posters inside and the cooler below one of them.
Nice work!

It does look nice. Maybe next week the rain will stop and you’ll get a chance to put it outside. Well done.

Great Job Ralph, any orbs in there??? LOL The Regal

Nice! I like all the signs, especially the big Coke sign on the front.

That look nice Ralph. I really like the style fits the country theme very well.

Thanks guys. At last a day with no rain. Sunny View General Store is open for business. Ralph

At one time Muella under the logo MS Productions had a line of very fine looking buildings they put out. One of the problems some people ran into was the resin parts began to warp while out in the sun.

Good looking job Ralph. I hope you don’t run into that warp problem.
