Counting Down to Mik's Build Challenge 2016

Geeze, you said I already finished my project… Now what am I gonna do? I’ll have to think of somphin! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Eric, well, since we don’t know what we are going to be challenged with, we will all need to think of sump-tin.

I have participated in 2 so far, and both of them got projects off of my “someday list”, so I am wondering if this challenge will allow me to get another something off of my “someday list”.

I will always adhere to rule #1. Its the only rule I truely care about. I will obey the rest but I will cherish #1.

That’s why Mr. Taylor needs to throw me a bone so I can have some fun. First you have to wait for Christmas to see what you might get that will help with the challenge ( plastic packaging card board twist ties you know building materials) then you have to wait again to see what you’d going to use it on. Oh man its killing me.

Devon, I know, but I have used this time to finish upgrading my HO fleet, well, most of it, fix the loose handle on the kitchen faucet, try and get winders 10 ta behave for me (What are you doing now?!!), and contemplate clearing off more of my workbench.

I told my boss that once, and he gave me the strangest look. I wonder why.

Dave, I am a firm believer in “If one is not having fun at whetever it is he/she is doing, it is high time to change what one is doing.”

That said, I am sure Dave Taylor will make it fun and challenging. For some the just doing it is the fun part, others like the challenge. Either way, I am anticipating some great challenge and a whole bunch of fun doing it.

Devin, you remind me of my ADHD grandson. Patience is NOT his strong suit.

Waiting for the challenge and new rulse…

Bob C.

The deadline is closing in.

I am currently replacing a toilet and laying flooring in the bathroom. Do you think it will give me any ideas?

I dunno Doug, but save your scraps!

I’m worried, for 2 days in a row, I’ve ignored my Clean Shop post-it!

Suddenly, there’s no rush!

I do have fun whit what I do, sometime more fun then at other times, but I have fun. That seams to be counter to what most supervisors want. It is my impression, that if they see me having fun, they think that 1) I am not actually working. 2) I am not taking things serious enough. or 3) 1 and 2.

My supervisor told me during my review, with surprise in his voice, that “Your customers really love you.” And then proceeded to tell me that I need to work on my interpersonal relationships. My customers like me because I come in happy and willing to try and make things right.

I like building things, and having a deadline, and comparing my work with those true artists on here, compels me to finish, and, hopefully, makes me do a little bit better on my projects.

As for my ADHD, I um…

Yes, I would like to see what the challenge is, and what the rules are. And, I hope we do not loose another member during/because of the up and coming challenge.

I couldn’t agree more. Folks need to remember that Rule #1 applies first and foremost.

However, I believe it is all of our responsibility to politely admonish those out of line, and if that is unsuccessful, report them to BD. Nuff Said.

Waiting for the challenge…somewhat patiently…

Who . . .me!!!

People see some of the stuff I build, and they accuse me of having patience. I don’t have a lot of patience, I just take a lot of breaks.

OK Devon You asked for a teaser, OK just this once, lord knows why you want one, but I’ll deliver.

So now what you gonna do with it? Are you allowed to play with electrical things?

Are you sure that’s not a TASER?

I’ll pass on that tease!

Color me Gone!

I bet I can figure out how to use a tazer in my build

What voltage are taser batteries? Maybe it would power an engine!

I have a request.

If, for the third year in a row, somebody gets his or her feelings hurt, would you please take your grievance up in a private discussion with the person whom you feel has wronged you, rather than expressing yourself in the Challenge thread? For myself, I pledge not to come in off the bench and gratuitously offer opinions on someone else’s issues.

I really very much enjoy the challenges, the friendly competition, and the electronic fellowship around the challenge. I agree with Maynard that I hope we go this year without a public tempest.

Amen!

Will this be a part of Miks Build Challenge" this year?

Rooster,

The only problem I see with this being part of the challenge is the budget. I really regret now not purchasing my taser sooner. As i wont have one on hand before Jan 1 I am pretty sure my budget will be blown on acquiring a taser. I really wish I would have had a clue so I could have asked for one for Christmas.

John,

I can’t figure out a way to enthusiastically agree with your comment enough for it to show in virtual reality. I now that I can, sometimes, be abrasive, as can others. But this challenge is supposed to be fun. Fun above everything. I have said it before I came to LSC because the challenge was here. It is the highlight of my year on here. So while we might pick at each other outside of the challenge lets all be nice, supportive, and let everyone have their fun

Hey maybe that’s the part we get!

ZAPPPPPP! ZAPPPPPPPPPPP!!!
