Cook Shack Camp Car

I am starting a string of camp cars. I am using Precision Board and a unique design of Log type construction, on part of them. Prototypical,? probably not and I don’t care,

Lifting locomotives on the track with the 5 fingered cranes are not prototypical either but most of us do it. I can think of a couple here that might not, LoL LoL.

I do no prototypical research either, I just like to let the imagination flow and roll.

This is connected to the thread I did on Precision Board, for more details of the product refer to this link.

I will end up building several of these so the fun has just started.

chair, popcorn, waiting…

Interesting concept. In one of my books my fading memory recalls some timber camp cars.

Dennis, its your RR so if you put a string of log cabin camp cars on it, well, its prototypical for your RR and that’s all that matters (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif). Great looking cabin.

I’m liking the look of this!

Starting to put down the Black Duct Tape to represent tar paper

Now after all the tape/Tar paper is installed, I coat with Flex seal, It works great, I have had some outside for years, works great

Wanting to place a sign on each side of the cook shack I need a sign bracket. So I designed a system that locks together in a Tab and groove technique, this allows a much stronger system.

The windows are able to open and close, they swing up, hinged at the top, so they can be propted open being held open by a stick.

I found a guy that claimed he could paint me a sign for the camp car, I told him to find a piece of metal so the sign would be easy to paint on and be easy to read.

This guy was not quite as good as I was led to believe. And I believe some of his friends had some fun while no one was watching.

I came back after the sign was painted and installed. After I read it, I thought most of the guys reading it would not notice the imperfections.

So I paid him his fee, for the two signs, one on each side. 5.00 dollars each, I guess I got my moneys worth.

A unique sight going down the track, I’m sure. Nice signage!
