Converting Bachmann skeleton log cars (98490) to hook and loop couplers

I found what looks like a very reasonable price for the Bachmann skeleton log cars (98490) at a semi-local hobby shop and almost took a bunch home. However, they come with knuckle couplers by default, and for the moment I want to stick with hook and loop couplers.

Roll-EZ (and others) have replacement sets of hook and loop couplers… is converting the Bachmann cars over to these as simple as removing the originals and replacing with hook and loop? 10 PAIRS Standard G-Scale Hook & Loop Couplers, Fits Most BACHMANN, LG – Roll-EZ Wheels (I now know that coupler heights etc are all over the map so I’d like to save the hassle by asking you all.)

1 screw in each truck talgo. Done! (pull the truck off, first.)

If you are looking for more that are similar, I bought these on Etsy g scale log disconnects . You get tow trucks and a bar to connect them, assembly required it was fairly easy. I used some USA steel wheels and they fit perfectly, kit comes with bearings for the axle.
