No matter who you ultimately vote for, one thing has become clear in this election. It brings out the looniness and nastiness in some people.
If your candidate or someone doing things that benefit him does something, no matter how …odd or unorthodox (or quasi-legal or even outright ILLEGAL), it’s fine to ignore it or minimize it. BUT the OTHER guy is to be held to standards that Buddha, and Jesus couldn’t meet. – All at the top of your lungs
It’s OK to insult someone, impugn their character, and belittle their beliefs just because they disagree with you but for them to return in kind means they are ___________ (insert your favorite derogatory term here)
The idea of the mainstream media being unbiased has never been less credible (Or at least not since William Randolph Hearst stirred up the Spanish-American War). The right wing talk show guys at least admit they have a dog in the fight.
The electoral “system” itself is broke, or at least so far bent that it bears little resemblance to what the founding fathers intended. The best candidates on both sides won’t even consider running because they have no desire to subject themselves and their families to this kind of abuse.
BOTH sides are EQUALLY to at fault for the mess we are in, Like opposite sides of the same bad penny, but if they can shift the blame to the other guy rather than accept it, they will.
The rest of the world must think we’ve lost our collective minds. I’m beginning to agree with them.
Is this REALLY what we want to be?
