Compatibility of code 250 rail

I know I have asked this before but I can’t remember and can’t find the post.
Which of the code 250 aluminum rails work together? I know there are brands that have a narrow base, I think 5mm where the others are 7mm?
The brands i can bring to mind are llagas, Sunset Valley, Micro Engineering and Accucraft. Any others?

Terry

Terry,

If you handlay track the base of the rail is not that important. Expecting to mix tie strips is another matter. Llagas track has a 5mm (nominally) base; an old ME Code250 turnout I have here is 5.5mm (nom).

Hans, I’ll make switches but I have no desire to handlay track. Looking for tie strips to match up to rail is exactly what I’m after. I keep looking at my layout and not liking the 332 rail in euro ties and want to slowly start switching it out to 250.

Terry
The old ME 250 alum that I have is 5.25 mm at the base. The AMS 250 brass that I have is 6.1 at the base
The Sunset Valley brass is the same a AMS
Hope this will help you
