What are you thoughts on Bachmann,LGB, Hartland , old time passenger, baggage, combine cars. Likely D& RG. good, better best?? I know there is a slight difference in scale. What engine would you suggest.

I personally like the looks of the Bachmann Jackson Sharpe cars the best. They look great behind the Annie (4-6-0). They would also look good behind LGB’s Mogul. LGB cars would be 2nd choice and run behind the same locomotives. I don’t own any Hartland and am not too familiar with them. They just never impressed me.

Steve, You have not mentioned what you’ll be pulling these with. I favorites are the USA cars Overton type cars in 1:24 (I just picked up my third) and the Aristo Sierra cars in 1:29. Here are a few pics behind my AristoClassic C-16’s (1:24) - USA cars

Brian, what are the three silver things that look a little like rockets next to your fence?
Dave Healy said:Keen eye, Dave. That made me laugh. They are some old hexagonal, clay, drain pipes I had dug up on a job. I made tops for them from aluminum flashing and painted them with some chrome paint. I was going to use them for futuristic silos but have rethought that idea. They may return to the layout in another incarnation or not.
