Scooby, your stuff looks really good, especially the scale brick wall in the last photo. :P  :D
Scooby,
Very nice back woods looking stuff. Enjoyed the bridge with make shift pilings/pier/cribbing/I don’t know what you should call it. What are your trees?
rag weed sprayed green
Great Pictures of a great looking layout!
Your smaller profile rail really shows well. My future outdoor expansions will definitely use smaller rail, probably code 250.
Glad you found some rail that is close to the existing size.
Happy RRing,
Jerry

Lately I’ve been trying out Llagos Creek 250 aluminum with the Accucraft NG 250 ties. I like the look and since I’m using batteries & R/C and with the price of brass lately it’s working out well.
Scoob, I like the trestles…well done!
Scoob, I’m fascinated by that lake or river, or whatever it is. How did you do that?
Do the ragweed trees cause you to sneeze?

Wow that’s a lot of logs - Nice picture
Those were considered “throw away long,” not worth harvesting. Funny how times change.
I’ve always wanted to make something like that. Use up lots of branches, and soak it with Thompson’s Water Seal. With all the storm damage so far this year, I may be able to do that!
Find the live, or freshly killed Silver Maple branches. They have a nice tight bark that stays put when you cut them for logs. I found when trying to build a wood load for my Shay that the seasoned branches won’t hold their bark.

You must mean having to plow the snow or something, because if it was snowing a lot, it seems that would be the reason to be inside buiding the trestle. It happened again, I are cornfused.
I have several NW logging books and you would be surprised at what they use for bridges.
Or how they built them.
There is a prototype for anything.
Nice job, Scoob!
