Coal fired K27 Accucraft/Frutzke

My friend has asked me to help him sell one of his engines. He has way too many ( in my opinion) including ride on…so he’s thinning the herd.

Here are the details as provided by him.

I will add that I did the RC conversion for him and that he takes very good care off his stuff. Please note that he likes to “weather his engines”. This was not clear when I helped him sell one two years ago and the buyer while happy with the engine was not happy with the weathering… thought it was factory paint.

Loco: Accucraft K27, D&RG #464, modifications designed & executed by Torry Frutzke (Pikes Peak Loco Works, Pueblo Colorado), one of 9 such modifications existing.
Weight = 25lbs. Valve gear: Original Accucraft Walschaerts, ‘D’ valves, working drain cocks.

Boiler: Completely new, SS hydro tested by Torry to 220-psi, 9 flues. 890 ml boiler capacity. 75-psi normal operating pressure, dual 75 & 78-psi safety valves, super heater.

Fittings: pressure gauge, water gauge with blow down, throttle, boiler drain valve, blower valve, steam whistle, Goodall valve

Water Feed: loco axle pump with bypass valve, tender hand pump.

Fire Box: Integral to boiler, wet leg except for dry back, 7 sq inch grate area, removable ash pan and grate assembly.

Tender Capacity: approx. 2 Quarts

Tools provided: coal shovel, coal rake, flue cleaning brush, tender pump handle.

Added Features: weathering, 3 servos-( throttle, J bar, fire door), steam whistle.
