to make it a single word it could/should be:
Großgoldklumpeneisenbahnschwertransportwagen. (sorry, no umlauts)
like the famous (in germany):
Donaudampfschiffahrtskapitän.

For the record, I did admit that the single umlaut was added gratuitously.
BTW I bought that umlaut and intend to use it somewhere prominent before it gets stale.

Otherwise, I love the unending syllables Korm.
How would you rework that word for a car that carries either that big gold nugget, or a small iceberg? I’m sort of growing fond of the rough-cut foam mockup, so have to ask.
Großgoldklumpenoderklieneeisbergeisenbahnschwertransportwagen?
I used to have umlauts, but a regimen of penicillin cleared it right up.
as well for the record - i specially put an “ß” (“as-tset” used instead of “ss”) into it.
and now you guys have to excuse me. i have to go and participate in a
Freiwilligefeuerwehrdirektionsplanungssitzung…
I think that means, “reading the newspaper together on the toilet.” Did I nail it?
Rooster: has removed himself from this discussion.

Bovofaecologist but with an “S”?
almost…
Freiwillige - feuerwehr - direktions - planungs - sitzung
volunteer firefighter directorate planning meeting
i love meetings! everybody talks, nobody listens and in the end the decision is delegated to those, that didn’t talk.
I get my best naps during these meetings, especially government ones.
Finally got moving today, starting with the bearings between the trucks and body bolsters. I used “sex bolts”, fender washers, and some nylon tubing around the shank of the female sex bolt to work with the hole size of the truck. Lots of fiddling, but I’m grateful it’s only one car, and not supposed to be historical.
After that, I worked on framing up the two… sub-cars?
The big slew bearings won’t be very impressive, because they’re hidden anyway. But that’s the next step in this layer cake.
The above pic shows a contour tool which I bought to measure the nugget braces. With tax, it cost $26.49. Not sure if tool costs count, but if so, that’s my expense on this project.
No, fire brigade. 18-20
Eww…I don’t do that…I use my phone instead!
didn’t see this earlier.
Großgoldklumpenoderkleinereisbergeisenbahnschwertransportwagen
would be better grammer.
but really even in german there would be a split into different words, if you insist of using “oder”
Großgoldklumpen oder kleiner eisbergeisenbahnschwertransportwagen
but this would be a possible variant:
Großgoldklumpeneisenbahnflachbettschwertransportwagenpaar
flachbett = flatcar
paar = a pair
Vielen dank, Herr Kormsen! And here I thought I’d have to make signage in Germlish, so this will be mucho besser!
Sprecken ze deutch ai nt dat gut 4 a Jahr des Hahns U Schwanz Kopf !
Yo love es! (remembers me of the pidgin in west african harbours, where most sentences contained shreds of at least three languages.
in germany they call it Denglish, when germans try to appear multicultural by using anglicisms.
a Hahn with that much knowledge of german would have gotten an invitation to the Wienerwald.
(Wienerwald was the first european copy of a certain restaurant chain out of Kentucky)
“today the kitchen stays cold,
we go to the Wienerwold!”
see me,
feel me,
kill me,
grill me…
(lament of a Rooster)
ps: in a german forum this: “Schwanz Kopf” would be censored.
Yesterday and this afternoon I’ve been working on the slew bearings and the main car body. So far, all seems to be working ok.
The nugget is too tall now, I’ll have to rethink that.
Beyond the nugget, next steps involve detailing, not sure how far I’ll go with that, we’ll see.
maybe, your lucky '49ers excavated a whole gold-vein ? (that would be flatter)
don’t forget - it is a challenge and a whimsy one.
how about train robbers? one with a pickaxe, animated like the New Bright christmas cars?
True, it would be flatter… hmm.
Great idea! But I think the static details will take awhile… and I’d like to wrap this soon and get back to the loco transfer car before more home improvement stuff hits.
