Clean Aristo Alum. Amtrak?

I have a used Amtrak car and the top looks like it’s got some tree and weather stuff glued on. I’m actually thinking of using bathroom Scrub Free on it? What do you think?

Try WD-40 first. It works great for that sort of stuff.

Not certain, but I think the aluminum has a clear paint finish on it to keep it shiny. I’d try mild cleaners first; maybe a dilute degreasing cleaner (like ZEP 505) before anything abrasive.

Auto bug & tar remover is lighter fluid. Just be sure to rinse it off good.

…and lighter fluid is naphtha.

You could also go to your local Auto parts store and buy a cheap Clay bar, Use soapy water and rub the clay bar over the sap on the car and it should remove it without damaging the finish.

Thats what I use on all my Real cars to remove sap, road paint ect. without any damage to the finish.

Thanks!

A lot of the cleaners I have say not for aluminum. Yikes.

I put some Awesome on it and it did pretty good. It did not take off some of the tougher spots. Maybe it’s old hardened tree sap??
I will try the others.

I’ve found that 91% isopropyl alcohol works well to remove ponderosa pine tree sap. But you have to be careful as it might remove paint if you rub too hard.

Works great to get the sap off your hands as well. Probably the best sap remover I know of after many years of trying various products. Just a note though that this is for ponderosa sap and may not work on other tree sap.

Goo Gone works pretty well.
