Hi Timmy, in my Climax book there is a litho of a cross section showing how the gear lever moved the hi-low gearing, the Ozark kit is tight on interior space, I surmised that was why the kit was built that way, Ozark would have had to make their kit an 1-1/2" longer to fit it in that way. In the end it doesnt really matter which way its oriented, as long as your happy with it, thats all that counts. I also think your model came out terrific!

God forbid I come down on anyone for non-prototypical building standards, I’m the worst offender of all you lot

That’s correct Victor. However, as I stated above, the engine component comes as a kit itself. One could build the engine component pretty much anyway they want.

I got the sides on and the boiler attached. Now its starting to look like something. So far I am hapy with the look. Next I have to work on the engine and some of the piping. Then the roof. Im thinking about using a coffee can for the roof. Just wait for the can to rust perfect.

Looking good, shawn… Looks like the boiler re-worked nicely…

coming along great Shawn. When you finish maybe we can work out a swap for those two flats you set your eye on.

Coming along nicely

Thanks guys. After looking at the pictures I decided to take about 3/4 inch off the top. It looked a little too high. Made a big difference.
Hollywood maybe we can work something out.

Im sorry Steve I thought I smelt something burning over here on the east coast. I guess it would be considered the cab. It was too high so I made it lower were the roof will eventually be. Does that help if not you will have to wait for the next picture.

Is it done yet?

Just a quick update:
I got the braces done for the roof and after a week of hunting around I found a perfect piece of rusty metal that i plan on using for the roof. I got it from an old hunting cabin that had collapsed years ago. I cant do anything else until I get some painting done but I have to wait till the wife goes to work or the weather gets warmer. (Shes highley allergic to chemical scents like air fresheners, paints etc…) Hopefully I can get the painting done mid week and then the roof can be secured and the little details added.

updates are worthless without pictures…

Just for you Andy
