I got this used Hartland Christmas tree train set this summer. Missing a few parts, but runs nice and quiet, which was important for the wife ear test. Post your xmas tree pix.
No train around the tree this year. Just didn’t have the room. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas ! Ralph

We set up the tree Friday. I have to get the track down under it, then I’ll post pics
No tree yet, but the lights are up…

and some other stuff…
It seems to me that the custom of model railroads beneath Christmas Trees is a well established American one, although I am sure that many this side of the Atlantic also follow it.
I have wondered about doing something similar but as we rarely have a tree indoors the matter is somewhat academic.
Whilst running trains last week I suddenly realized that my garden railroad passes beneath a Christmas Tree, which is around fifteen feet high. This tree is decorated lightly at Christmastide and so could well fulfill my need. Actually the area beneath the tree is the now permanent site of my recently built covered bridge: lighting might be called for.

Pics Alan, you know how some of us are.

Do my best, providing my old head remembers it Dave. Decorations do not appear here until 24th. - the kids were always told Father Christmas did it all.
Since I was little I always had trains around the tree. Before G scale it was always the old lionels. This year I put out my HLW yard master pulling all Kalamazoo cars. My 2 year old wanted his little engine in front of the big one. LOL
Yeah, trains around the old Christmas tree is an old American tradition. When I was a lad, it was my O-scale Marx trains (couldn’t afford the Lionel stuff.) My last under tree train was a great little LGB C&S loco pulling a gondola and my scratchbuilt caboose. No layout this year (no tree!) but as the new S&CW continues to grow, I’m sure there will be one in the future! This being a rather festive thread, Merry Christmas to all! Oh, yeah, Jerry, the little train looks great! Hope to see it soon!!
Nothing planned for around the tree this year. Been too busy with other things lately like cleaning up still after Arbor-geddon last week.
I used to run this thing under the tree, but tore it up once the kids left the nest. Still got it somewhere packed away.
We run the our Lionel Xmas Train under our trees. Merry Christmas to all!!

Nice Christmas setups. It is always nice to have a train to run inside when it gets too cold outside and having it go around the Christmas tree is a great excuse to setup. Here is mine, a circle and a loop with 3 sidings and lots of action in a small area.

Happy Holidays to All
Todd,
Rename the file eliminating the spaces in the file name and reupload it to your freight shed.

The spaces are before and after the year.

Thanks Ralph, I tried it with your suggestion in the testing page and it worked so here goes…

I had added another siding this year and guess what no room for presents so… a platform was built to plaace them on and the train goes underneath.
It worked!!
It’s been a while since I’ve had LS trains around the tree. Here was the first one back in 2002…

I always thought the loco number was appropriate

It’s been fun to see everyone’s setups around the tree. Merry Christmas!
