Christmas 2013

Merry Christmas Y’all!

my 2nd born, Luke (8 y/o), informed me this morning we’re closer today than we were yesterday! Needless to say, our home is abuzz with Christmas Cheer and Anticipation.

I snuck out of the house and up to the barn I jogged to retrieve a box of track, power supply and our HLW Mack.

Bright Eyes and Huge Smiles welcomed me back in and soon enough we were running trains!

now to clean up all the fallen needles…

Merry Christmas from M7 & NBRR

It never ends, does it, cleaning fallen needles off the track. Good on ye, Dad!

Christmas already? We only just tidied up after the visit by St, Nicholas last evening. We still have nearly three weeks to go over here, lol

Just how many volts are you pumping thru those poor things?

It strike me that the only things that run that fast on curves are NYC Metro North trains, well at least for a little while that Fast. Or you really need to talk to MaMaClause about a new camera.

I’d slow them ponies a bit Cale, saves the gears from ripping up.

kids, don’tcha love 'em…they think 100% is the correct speed for anything that moves.

I personally like them painfully slow…I think we’ve settled between 55 and 60% (mph say the kids) on the power supply. Lots less noise from the Hardwood floor; and mom agrees–ahem…Insist

the camera on my dumb phone adds a little to the blurring speed

My Mack would scream in pain at that high speed. I’m thinking about bashing my Mack.

Lookie who showed up this morning!..and a funny thing happened on his pre-trip inspection…I found a Brand New ELSMA RX in his cab…reckon it’s been there since 2009 waiting on me to install…

You are so right about kids Cale: only one attitude in their book and that is ‘pedal to the metal’.

Cale,

I installed a screw under the speed control knob of the power supply which now limits the output (MPH) to about 50%. There was a lot of resistance from the grand kids but they’ve come to accept it and they still enjoy playing with the trains just as much.

Yessir! How old are your boys now, Tom?

btw: was there ever a fix for Thomas and his poor coupler arrangement?

20 and 21. Caleb is getting married in February.

Our son will be 32 and our daughter is 29. You two are just kids!

Doug,

You are just a whipper snapper too. My boys are 43 and 42, and I’m married to the same gal for 44.5 years!

Doug, what took you so long? My Great Granddaughter is 9, and her mom is 28.

Just a kid? I don’t feel like it most days!
