Hmmm. That creates a mental image that I just can’t unsee.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif) (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
Back to the, um, subject. As I said I look for the more average, run about type vehicles. And in a private post, it was brought up about some of my other more average cars. So, here is a picture I posted a while back with some of my average car finds.
Nice grouping in the pic David. And definitely a vehicle era that is tough to find nice models for in any scale.
Are they 1:24 or 1:32?
They are 1:24 and 1:25.
After I started this thread, I had some people ask me about the “everyday type vehicles” that I do have. Yes, I have a few 57 Chevys, and a 69 Camero, and Ford Mustang or two, along with a small heard of Model T Fords, but I just wanted to show the everyday type vehicles that I do have.
Oh yea, I used the Expedition as a prop in an article I did once.
And the infamous Ford Pinto. No, this one didn’t explode.
Ah yes, the AMC Gremlin.
I wish I had found that Ford Maverick in yellow with the black racing stripes. I used to see them quit a lot. But I guess white is fine too.
Oh yes, the DeLorean. Not too common, but I worked with a guy who had one.
I need some soccer mom figures to drive these.
The Batmobile? How did that get in there?
Its a mystery Dave.
I don’t know how it got in there.
Now you made me loose my train of thought. Thanks Dave. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)
Oh yea, scale autos. All of those were 1:24/1:25 or thereabouts. But then I have this gem, labeled as 1:24
Somebody goofed. Because a Dodge Omni should not be as big as a Ford Expedition. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
Then I have these
the Jeep is labeled 1:27th scale, and the Mini is labeled 1:28 scale. Close enough for my 1:29 trains.
And as always, I find a straggler, the one who is late to the party. In this case its this 1:24 Ford.
Ok that is an interesting collection. I love the Gremlin and the Delorian.
Devon, I wanted a DeLorean for a while, but most of the ones I found are adorned with added stuff from some movie. It took some searching for me to find a plain, unadorned, DoLorean.
That’s just the somewhat newer, and new cars. I have several from the 50’s, and, like I said, I have a small heard of model Ts in various configurations.
This whole model railroad thing just may be getting a bit out of control.

Of course we’ve heard of Model T’s! (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)I have a herd of them myself.
Maybe I should have said gaggle.
The brown Mercury Comet brought back memories. Used to work at Lincoln Mercury dealership as a lot boy washing the cars. Back in '76 we had a big July 4th sale. There was a brown Mercury Comet that got sold as soon as it got off the truck. Fast Forward 15/16 years later and I am walking around the neighborhood we moved into and there was a brown Mercury Comet sitting in a neighbors yard. Spoke to the neighbor and yes he purchased it at that sale. We got 3 of the brown ones in. He got one of them.
LAO
Slowly, very slowly, several of us are attempting to correct the spelling habits of a great “Herd”…!!!(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)…while cautiously making sure our dictionaries and spell-check are kept close by…to correct the mistakes we make ourselves !!!
It’s not just spelling mistakes being made, it’s also lack of education in using the correct words, or never being brought up or educated in having PRIDE or respect, in what we write while attempting to communication with others
Are we having fun yet ?
Ok Fred. So is that a bunch, instead of herd? Or, maybe its a crapload.
BTW, did you get the green versus red issue fixed on your signals yet?

Naw, this is when it gets out of control…for vehicles that is. And this isn’t even all of them (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
Matt I have a dresser full of vehicles, and the dresser can’t even hold them all.
