My wife has us going with a Chessie system direction as we further define our garden railway and train collection. Sooo, we are looking for a second GP38-2, more grain hoppers and other Chessie freight cars and possibly the GP40 from Aristo. Need to try to stick to 4 axle power for now, even the switcher from USA would work. I do have a few pieces I would let go in partial trade. One is a 2019 LGB mogue that was stripped of its antique sound, fitted with a onboard battery in the engine boiler, charging port and on/off toggle under the cab. Headlight and flickering fire box light still functions. Just flip it on and forget it for several hours, great for open houses and display layouts. Runs over 5 hours with a short train on my little railway. Also have a LGB C&C flat car and a few Kalmazoo pieces that I would consider letting go. Those are a black DRGW 4-4-0, 3 gondolas and 2 box cars. The two box cars have thier original boxes. Thanks Mike and Michele T
Mike,
I’m brand new to this forum. This may be a day late and a dollar short, but I do have a brand new, in the box, never run Aristocraft GP-40 in the Chessie scheme. I too have a Chessie themed railroad, no layout yet, but accumulating track and cars in anticipation of someday having an outdoor layout. I also have a brand new, in the box, never run USA Trains SD40-2 in the Chessie scheme, as well as a slightly used one (same road number) just in case you ever want to bump up to the six axle level. I need to research these on E-bay to find out what others have been going for, so I don’t have a price in mind yet, if you’re still interested you could make me an offer and we can go from there.
I need to thin out the herd a little. I have about 16 Chessie coal hoppers (combination of Aristocraft 100 ton and USA Trains 70 ton) that I plan to run behind a three locomotive consist (2 Chessie GP38’s and a C&O GP38. I would be interested if you have any of these coal hoppers, especially if I don’t have that particular serial number. I’d also be interested in either brand a “Undecorated” black scheme if you have any you would want to part with.
Have a great day.
Bill
