It was a beautiful day yesterday and I didn’t have to work. So, I brought out the chessie power. Seems like I had been running coal trains more here lately, so it was time.
Matt, at 1:08 that looks like one of Shane Weddekamp’s bridges…I have a long lift bridge from him and a couple of others. What’s your opinion of his bridges?

John, I’m fairly certain it was built by him. I can’t remember though. It’s held up great. I really like it and the detail on it. I think it’s been outside for almost 2 years now. I would have to go back through my pictures to make certain though. I don’t think Karl makes bridges anymore. A while back he had posted that they were moving and he sold off all his g scale stuff. I’ve not seen him post on the facebook group since then.

Great video Matt, what radius are your curves? Cant wait to get our new GP38-2 back from Robbie with its sound and onboard battery power. Already planning how we can modify the railway to better handle atleast 4 axle diesels and grain hoppers as we also got one of the AML Chessie hoppers yesterday. While my wife is a screaming Chessie fan, I could be considered a “closet” fan. Definatly one of the more colorful roads to model. My first “hobby grade” HO diesels were a pair of Athearn GP38-2 diesels, one was Union Pacific, the other was Chessie. Love to see more videos of them running. Mike and Michele T

I have aml 20’ diameter everywhere except right behind my yard barn. I used 10’ diameter there and regret it. It was just meant as a temporary horseshoe to get trains running, but it causes problems with body mounted coupled cars. Truck mounted coupled cars go through it fine. But, I’m in the process of switching everythign over to body mounted kadee’s and the wheels hit the sides of the coupler box and when a long train get’s in that section the drag is too much and the cars fall over. I’m in the process of expanding the mainline, so this should motivate me to get it done sooner than later. lol.

When I body mounted some 920’s … I had the same rubbing … I notched the sides of the gear boxes so tires could cut in more …
You can always just shave the box Cuz (Sean called it but he shaves a runway) !
Shave both sides of the box down.
