The big treat for me at Rail Days at Spencer this year was Charles Schwab’s “Lorreto”. I’ve been to Spencer probably a dozen times. The “Lorreto” has never been open for viewing. This year for Rail Days it was open for viewing. The “Lorreto” was purchased by Schwab in 1901, and delivered in 1902. Ralph
Wow. While you were taking it all in did yo “Talk to Chuck” ?
Beautiful!
WOW, You don’t see craftsmanship like that everyday…
Magnificent! Thanks for sharing!!
Beautiful car! Thanks for the photos.
I always wanted to get inside Lucius Beebe’s and Charles Clegg’s original private car the Gold Coast. It was kept in Oakland, California in the SP yards for many years. I believe it’s still at the rail museum in Sacramento but it couldn’t be entered the several times I was there.
WOW! Just awesome! A toast to those old time craftsmen! Thanks for the inspiration you’ve posted here, Ralph.
That inlay is amazing. It is hard to find craftsmanship like that, anymore.
