CHANGE CHICAGO STYLE

'Community Organizer', do we need a President like Al Sharpton???? Nick Jr
And work for radical change from the inside — "like a spy behind enemy lines," as Obama said in his first memoir. He wrote it before entering politics, while still working with hard-left Alinsky groups and training street agitators known as "community organizers."

Looks to me like we need radical change–have you been watching the news lately?

Nope! I look at cartoons…

It’s pretty comical–you guys are worried about a connection to Ayers, and the Rezko thing, where there is zero evidence of Obama doing anything illegal, and meanwhile the last 8 years have been a disaster of historic proportions. Like I keep saying, it’s not like I think Obama is the messiah or without flaws, but the republican record is just astonishingly bad

In the last 8 years:

Cut taxes AND increase government spending–higher deficit, bigger government

Invaded Iraq for reasons that turned out to be wrong, still there, spending billions a month, to protect Nouri Al Maliki from other Iraqis

Demonstrated to the world that we are more than willing to jettison our principles and engage in torture, secret arrest and permanent imprisonment without trial (Guantanamo)

Encouraged reckless speculation, deregulation and lax enforcement, now facing collapse of markets OR a trillion dollar bailout, take your pick. Lose your retirement or pay higher taxes

Complete stagnation of middle class incomes

Oh yeah–where’s Bin Laden?

McCain was in the US senate the whole time, advocating deregulation, advocating the Iraq war. “McCain’s campaign manager, Rick Davis, was paid more than $30,000 a month for five years as president of an advocacy group set up by the mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to defend them against stricter regulations, current and former officials say.”

Obama has connections to Fannie Mae too. Like I said, he’s far from perfect. By all means though, let’s focus on the fact that Obama knows Ayers. It will be a great comfort when you can’t retire because the credit market has collapsed

Egads, guys; with what you are all saying about your government, and your elected leaders, it seems that you are again back where you started before your “American Revolution”
Does this indicate that another one is needed, in order to get back to basics, or is there any other way to solve all your stated problems ?

Every one of you make all sorts of valid points, but none has an answer, that would solve the problems, and all indications are pointing to a more drastic action.

It’s easy for me to point this out, as I’m out here looking in, and am not part of the population of voters; but sometimes we outsiders can see what the insiders can’t, due to the smoke and mirors…think about what you are all saying…it indicates major discontent, and a “Teaparty” would seem to be the next step…

I hope not…but you guys have done it before with less to complain about.

Unfortunately, you’re right, Fred.

Major discontent for sure.
As of today, not a single gas station in the county I live in has gasoline.
The government is about to borrow $6,000 for every US citizen, and give it to the same thieving bastards who got us in this mess.
Two weeks ago they said the economy was strong enough to weather the downturn. Now, all of a sudden they want $700 billion to spend at their discretion, or we will go into a recession.
Hey, I got news for them. We are in a recession.
If they borrow another 700 billion, we will just crash that much harder, later.
It turns out “economic growth” was code for “inflation”.

Fred,

“The only thing worse than taxation without representation is taxation with representation”.

Fred, Thomas Jefferson actually advocated revolution every once in a while…

“Every generation needs a new revolution.”

“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive.”

“If once the people become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, Judges and Governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature, in spite of individual exceptions”

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”
