Chance of adding

Bob, Any chance of adding both a Previous and Next button to the titled forum pages so as one need not go back to the main forum page to go between forums?

Such as from General to Trackwork by pressing next.

Thank you

Lazy!

I’ve often thought something like that, or a Jump To drop down would speed up browsing.

What else have you old Geezers got to do?

Oh my, it must be a hardship to hit the “Back” button on the keyboard. :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Nope HJ, just following behind your "Attention to details" :) :) :D ;)

Interesting idea. Ive seen those navigation dropdowns elsewhere, lemme take a look…

I use tabbed browsing:

First, from the main forum page and starting at the bottom, open each forum you want to read (usually only those with ‘new content’) in a new tab.

Next, starting with the oldest post, I open each individual item within a forum in a new tab (using the ‘new posts’ link). At this very moment, I have 6 tabs open.

I then open the most recent message directly in the tab I am already in.

As I read each item (usually oldest first), I just close that tab, which automatically moves me to the next newer post.

When I have read and closed all the tabs generated out of one forum, the next forum is on the screen. I then open each item in that forum in a new tab, and repeat the sequence until I have read all new content.

Try it: the people I’ve taught to use tabbed browsing all really like it and use it all the time. Sure beats returning to the main page each time!

Note that it took lots longer to write this than it takes to access the entire ‘new content’ of the forums via tabbed browsing.

Happy RRing,

Jerry

That’s a neat trick Jerry. I use tabs all the time, but never thought of using them for the individual forums. Thanks
