I spotted this in a news article about Nicholas Cage’s house being put up for auction:
“Model train sets on raised tracks a couple feet below the ceiling circled the inside of the breakfast room and two bedrooms.”
Doesn’t mention scale, but usually those “around the ceiling” layouts are large scale.

It looks like he invested in too many niceties plus bad advise too. He could have removed the trains if he wanted to but maybe was too busy. It’s a shame to make a ton of money and let it go for nought.

There are a few out there.
One that pops to mind was a decent sized collection of LGB sold on eBay about 5-6 years ago belonging to a young man that played football for the NFL, but was killed in a car wreck, cannot remember his name.
I think that was Derrick Thomas… His estate went up for auction including a large amount of LGB back in 2005.
(Side note: I was working for the Chiefs organization when he was in the car wreck that ultimately took his life in 2000. As far as NFL players go, he was actually one the good guys. It was a painful loss to the team and to the city.)
