Can anyone recommend a good source of material to model a catwalk? I really like the catwalks on the USAT and Aristo covered hoppers, it looks just like the stuff on the prototype bridges and trestles I’ve seen. Does anyone sell that stuff?
We have a guy here that builds a lot of modern cars and he uses expanded aluminum. He gets it in rolls and cuts it to size. This gives a diamond pattern rather than the rectangular that most models have.
Funny I was tryign to hunt some of this stuff down arlier this week. I’m almost certain that Plastruct makes it, and that I’ve seen it at some point, but have been unable to locate it again…
Car body repair shops sell expanded aluminium here in the UK , in varying sizes , I use it quite a lot in a few scales .
