Yes it is a beast. It’s twice as heavy (162 tons) as the other Shay’s they have (80 tons). I talked with a track worker at Cass and he told me that # 6 is always spreading the rails out of gauge, and they continually have to fix the track.
I believe that Joe. In several of the videos of #6 I just watched, you could hear the rail groaning as it crept along. That kind of creak creak creak sound. Seams even larger than I thought now that I see video with these seemingly “tiny” men peaking out of the cab. We really need to get down there.
