Greg, my games are the Microsoft games that came with the previous operating systems. Solitaire, Free Cell, Spider Solitaire, you know, the real high tech, graphics intensive games (not).

Oh, and somehow, for some reason, Mocrosoft Office 2000 will work on Windows 10. Colour me cornfused.

And this helps the original poster?

Office 2000 and 2003 will not run on Windows 10, they forced that obsolescence… Office 2007 mainline support expires this October, irrespective of operating system.

Microsoft is moving to getting paid each year, just like the utilities that charge yearly.

The old games won’t work too, although you say they disappear, but I think Win 10 is replacing your older ones with newer ones, the ones you mention are all available in new, free versions from Microsoft.

+1 again …Tonight is “Waxing Gibbous”

Rooster, you are complaining about thread drift? You must be kidding.

The original poster’s problem went away.

Funny, I am running Microsoft Office 2000 on my windows 10 machine. Rocky has an odd border around him, but he still barks and wags his tail while I am typoing away.

I found a place that has a download of those games to run on 10. I forget is it was on cnet or bleeping computer. I even put the games on my brandy new, winders tin, company laptop. Just don’t tell my company’s IT guys, ok?

I should correct myself, if you had earlier versions of Office installed and you upgraded a computer, apparently it will run, but you cannot “fresh install” even 2003 in a windows 10 machine.

Announcement today that Microsoft is dropping support on Windows 7 for Pentium 4 processors, i.e. no new security updates:

Greg, that may be true for Office 2003. But, somehow, I fresh installed Office 2000 into my new Windows 10 machine. Someday I may get brave enough and try installing my Photoshop Elements 4. If only that CD player program I have would work. Ah well. All good things haveta come to and end sooner or later.
