Large Scale Central

Canadian Pacific Railway depot New Westminster BC

I meant to share these awhile ago. I went to New Westminster BC (Vancouver area) for my son’s hockey. Outside my hotel was the CPR depot. I thought I would share, its a very cool depot. Sorry for the picture quality i took them with my phone in the pouring rain.

Here it is in the day

and here it is today. It is no longer used as a depot thought the CP tracks are still very active. The place is for lease. I think it would make a great restaurant and I suspicion it was once used for that.

Its too bad they added that chunk on the right hand side of the back. It ruins the symmetry.

That’s called progress, Devon. They concluded that they would rather have the modern computer convenience and of central HVAC. It really does ruin the architecture. Looks like you found a depot for the large scale RR. Better get busy.

You need to model that Devon…it would look good on the :

I would like to say a small prayer!

Lord give me strength to pretend that I did not see that structure posted and to get through these current life hurdles so that I may get back to building models real soon!

Amen

Odd half turrets on the track side…

Is it done yet?

Well I am off the hook on this one. It does not even come close to fitting any of my themes. Way way to big for a backwoods logger line and doesn’t look very 1880’s narrow gauge either.

This would be too much for Devon!

If I remember right that was Keg Restaurant (steakhouse) back in the 1970’s,

Hey Randy, nice to see that you’re still around.

What a great old depot!

I like that tiny Nolans depot too!

I like that Nolan’s depot myself. That would be a good one for the indoor.
